THEORY at The "Old Toll House", Hulme end, SK17 0EX

This beautiful building was built in 1790 and served as a toll house for the bridge next to it. It was falling into disrepair until the present owner lovingly restored it paying particular attention to respecting the character of the area.

PRACTICE at our own Apiaries located in Warslow

These apiaries were started over 50 years ago by Old Fred. They provide the ideal site for studying bees in total tranquillity surrounded by nothing but beautiful countryside.

Following an enjoyable day, students might like to share a glass of wine with tutor and Bon Viveur Olivier, in one of our many Peak District pubs. Olivier grew up in France (Alsace and Vosges Mountains) and as a native Frenchman is always happy to discuss the topic of wine!

Health and Safety: Bees do sting.  There is a small possibility , although not usual, of receiving a bee sting.

The course will involve walking over open land, exposure to the smoke used to control bees and some heavy lifting.

If you have an ongoing medical condition of any kind you are advised to seek medical advice before joining this course.
